Long-time Orangeville resident, community champion and current member of Orangeville Council, Joe Andrews will seek re-election as Councillor in the fall 2026 Municipal Election.
I have been part of Orangeville’s fabric for almost 40 years, being connected in so many ways to a community that I have raised my family in, one that I truly call home.
I am proud to be known for my outstanding commitment to this region as a leader in education, business, minor sports, and as an award-winning Volunteer of countless community activities and organizations.
Since my election to Orangeville Council in 2018, and re-election in 2022, I continued to demonstrate my strong integrity and foresight, applying fiscal responsibility and accountability in every decision made.
‘I have consistently displayed my ability to focus on the key issues affecting our Town today and for the long term. I brought to the table years of senior-level leadership experience in both the public and private sectors which have paid huge dividends.
As much as it is deemed part-time, this elected role I don’t take lightly.

I have always been readily available to the people of Orangeville no matter how small the issue may be. I have worked extremely hard independently and in unison with my fellow Council members to achieve significant results for the betterment of this community.

Through his unwavering professionalism and civility, he has led significant business investment into Orangeville, directed local affordable housing consultation, initiated and championed neighbourhood safety mitigation, embraced and supported Orangeville's growing diversity with key legacy initiatives, while prioritizing both capital and operational budgetary decisions that have enabled the municipality to meet critical infrastructure renewals of today and for the future.

As much as the role of Councillor is deemed, part-time, Joe Andrews embraced his role on Orangeville Council as a full-time commitment. He has been there for the people and the community consistently via email, text, phone, and more importantly in person, and this commitment will continue if re-elected.

Joe Andrews Re-Election Campaign 2026
Just as promised when he was elected in 2018, and re-elected again in 2022, Joe Andrews stood firm on ensuring Orangeville residential taxation increases were kept to a minimum every year during this term.
He has proudly represented and advocated for the municipality at the provincial table seeing over $30+ Million in grant funds being awarded for various infrastructure projects such as the new Orangeville Firehall, Pullen Well expansion, and Rotary Park redevelopment.
Further evidence of his ability to get things done for Orangeville, leading the Town's Economic Development portfolio has seen over $65+ Million in SME and business investment into our community through strategic business attraction creating local employment opportunities these past four years. And in 2025 alone, over $22 Million in commercial and residential construction has taken place with more planned for the remainder of 2026 and subsequent years.
While maintaining six (6) key Council files during this term of Council, Joe Andrews demonstrated that his leadership and extensive business experience enabled the municipality to benefit in so many ways. These files included; Business Economic Development and Culture – BEDAC, EDI - Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Affordable / Attainable Housing Task Force, Orangeville Library Board, SHIP – 236 First Street Advisory Board as well as an appointed Director of the ORDC – Orangeville Railway Development Corporation.
‘If Re-Elected, I will bring stability, integrity, and most importantly senior-level leadership and municipal governance experience to Council so that we can continue to address and get things done for the betterment of Orangeville today and for the future.
My Platform
My Election Platform is based on a number of factors. The key is having been at the municipal governance table now for two terms and understanding the challenges and opportunities ahead for Orangeville. We must have strong and experienced leadership at this table.
Yes, I have had those tough conversations with so many from our community hearing of their day-to-day concerns and stress points. I also understand the complexities we are facing from a global perspective that will have impact on all of us in some way.
As I continue to listen throughout my campaign, I stand firm that your voices have been heard and I will continue to represent the people of Orangeville.
Here is my Election Platform
- I commit to maintaining a stringent control on residential tax increases while addressing inflationary pressures all in order to ease the tax burden on property owners.
This means making serious decisions on what we as a municipality can truly afford while ensuring we are supporting the needs of our community today and in the future.
- I will continue to focus on expanding our business attraction strategies in order to foster further investment into Orangeville with an enhanced plan of action to grow our industrial lands.
Because of my role as Chair of the Town's Economic Development file, my first-hand experience and leadership has seen the incredible success of our current business attraction/investment strategy, yet we must keep the momentum moving forward so that Orangeville is included in Canada's economic commitment to diversification and support within our country's borders.
There must also be a solid plan by the municipality to expand our industrial lands. Doing so will enhance our ability to attract further business investment with 'shovel-ready' lands while addressing the long-standing imbalance and burden in Orangeville on our residential tax base who have primarily supported much of the infrastructure renewal and service enhancements.
- Ensure that future infrastructure projects are justified, properly fiananced through all possible sources including upper-level government advocacy, and completed in a timely fashion avoiding unnecessary cost overruns.
This means that all infrastructure projects including '10 year Capital projects' must be justified to be supported and approved. The financial burden on our tax-base cannot continue, thus the importance of upper-level government advocacy must be front-and-centre in order to support these commitments. And lastly, we must do a better job in completing infrastructure projects in a timely fashion avoiding unexpected and unnecessary addtional expenses.
- Maintain a commitment to addressing and increasing our affordable housing stock.
As Chair of the Town's Affordable Housing Task Force, key recommendations in a final report were presented to Council in this current term. The outcome, Orangeville must consider using key planning tools to reduce the 'red-tape', lessening the upfront costs and timeliness in getting forms of affordable housing built within our community, this includes ARU's (Additional Residential Units). A commitment to attracting alternative forms of building must also be considered to support and increase our affordable housing stock not only for first-time buyers, but our seniors who are looking for smaller forms of independent living options.
The housing continuum crisis must be addressed here at the local level, and I am committed finding solutions and acting on them.
- Continue advocacy for our diverse and growing population of Orangeville, in particular our youth and senior citizens.
We have several pressure points within Orangeville as new and diverse background residents embrace living in a community that they call home. We must come together showing our support for each other especially at a time where it has been so easy to socially divide ourselves.
Because of this, more than ever I commit to creating more opportunities for our youth and seniors population while not forgetting the families who make Orangeville so special. We must look for new and creative ways of bridging this gap beyond what is currently offered and do so in a cost-effective manner.
